Plain females
Male peacock trying to attract female peahens
Have you ever thought about this question? Why is it that in all of nature the female is the plainer looking. My friend and I had this discussion as we were walking by a group of rather loud peahens one day. They are downright plain looking. And they are almost unnoticeable. Compare this with the peacock who is amazingly beautiful. The same with cardinals, lions, chickens... My friend says it is because they don't have to be beautiful. They are beautiful to the males just because they are females. So why do human females spend so much time and money making themselves beautiful. Is it possible that we could be beautiful to males just because we are females? Why do we spend so much time, energy and money making ourselves up? Just a thought.

Because we don't already have enough crap to do.
:) Yes. You are. I once broke up with a girl (actually I didn’t have the courage to break up with her, I just avoided her). Waylan and Joey kept asking me why I didn’t at least call her back. I came up with all kinds of stuff: she was too _____________, ______________, and _______________. I don’t know if they didn’t really buy any of what I was saying or what, because they kept pressing me. Finally I said, you know honestly what I don’t like about her? She wore too much makeup. I hated to kiss her or even to look at all that caked up stuff on her face. Of course, Waylan said, you butthead, you could just tell her that you like her the way she is, and that she’s prettier without all that makeup. I thought, Dude, that sounds pretty good. Can you write it down for me? Ha.
Truly, I have thought about this issue several times over the years. There were other reasons I didn’t want to be with her, and it all worked out for the best anyway, but that one about the makeup has always been in the back of my mind. Message to women: quit trying to improve on perfection.
I was watching a nature documentary recently, and noted the gender who does more preparation and attraction-based dances and other things is different in the human race as it is in most other species. Hmm.
Yeah, those multiple multi-billion dollar industries. How they don't want things to change.
And boy how the entire society is geared around telling females from early on: put on a mask, cover up your blemishes, put something over your imperfections, put on artificial stuff to enhance yourself.
And that's only part of what females are told and led to believe.
Oh goodness, me J330's gone feminist....I can see him on the street corner burning bras any day now...LOL. Well, I made me laugh.
Yeah women are told a bunch of crap about themselves and men are told a buch a crap about them and everyone just goes ala status quo. I don't think there is anything particularly wrong with trying to look decent. It's the at all costs that bothers me.
okay, that warrants a swirlee, and maybe a wet-butt to boot.
Anyway...I mentioned this to parallel what is going on in the Church: put on a mask, don't let others see your blemishes, etc. It's a huge, obvious plague in both society and the Church, and yet it goes under the radar. I'm not sure how that is given how widespread a thing it is.
Of course there's nothing wrong with looking good, ladies. It's part of your glory!
The thing that is so destructive is that most women don't think they really have any true beauty, and so they do all kinds of crazy stuff, hoping to conjure some up. Not just cosmetic stuff. It's all that she will do to grab the attention and service of a man under the notion that if she is successful there, then it proves she is beautiful...
This is why in our culture we cover our woman because they look beautiful to their men, the way they are. Too much of artifical decoration kills the natural beauty.
But i don't think a human male is as beautiful as a lion, peacock or a roaster....as compared to their females!
